Slieverue is strategically located in an area known in ancient
times as Comar Tri nUisce (Meeting of the rivers Nore, Barrow and Suir) at the south east tip of County Kilkenny and the province of Leinster. Although Slieverue Village the hub of our community is located 3 miles from Waterford City we still manage to retain our
rural cuture and heritage . Slieverue parish is home to Belview Port, the main sea port of the South East.. There are two national schools in the parish: Slieverue and Ringville. Slieverue is the birthplace of the famous Irish scholar John O'Donovan (1809-1861) who translated the ancient text    Annals of the Four Masters into English.
